Sightline Releases SNMP and SMI-S Interface Agents FAIRFAX, VA November, 2011 – The Sightline Power Agents for Windows Systems were released on November 20, 2011. These Power Agents include Interface Agents for SNMP and SMI-S data collection. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an industry standard for network management, providing visibility into network-attached devices such as switches and routers. The Sightline™ Power Agent for Windows Systems includes an Interface Agent designed to retrieve availability and performance data from SNMP devices. The SNMP Interface Agent uses SNMP v2 to collect metrics from switches and routers that support SNMP, and then includes those metrics in the Sightline trace file. The Sightline SMI-S Interface Agent allows users to collect performance statistics from any disk array that has a corresponding Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) version 1.4 or above compliant provider. The Interface Agent comes with a generic SMI-S configuration and custom configurations for EMC Symmetrix and EMC CLARiiON arrays. (703) 563-3000 SightLine Power Agents for Windows SystemsThe SightLine Power Agents for Windows Systems were released on November 20, 2011. Four Power Agents were released: to run on Windows 2003 systems (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows 2008 systems (32-bit and 64-bit). These Power Agents include the new SNMP Interface Agent as well as the new SMI-S Interface Agent. SightLine Power Agent for Unisys ClearPath OS 2200 SystemsThe SightLine Power Agent version 7R7E for Unisys ClearPath OS 2200 Systems was released on October 27, 2011. This release includes new SIP performance metrics for XPC-L locking functions and commands. SightLine Enterprise Data Manager (EDM) version 2.1SightLine Enterprise Data Manager (EDM) version 2.1 was released on September 28, 2011. New features in EDM 2.1 are Visualization of metric data, including QUick Charts; Heat Map displays for triggered alerts; and pop-up displays for triggered metric alerts. SightLine Power Agent for Unisys ClearPath MCP SystemsThe SightLine Power Agent version 6.6.01 for Unisys ClearPath MCP systems was released on Septermber 21, 2011. This release also included the SightLine Capacity Manager and Workload Analyzer for MCP systems. SightLine Power Agents for Linux SystemsSightLine Power Agents for Linux systems were released on September 21, 2011. The released Power Agents included version 6.4.3.2 for SUSE 11 and RHEL 6; version 6.4.4.2 for SUSE 11 and RHEL 6 on 64-bit systems, and 6.4.24.4 for SUSE 10 and RHEL 5 on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. SightLine Expert Advisor/Vision (EA/V) version 8.0.4 SightLine Expert Advisor/Vision (EA/V) version 8.0.4 was released on August 19, 2011. This release includes fixes for increased stability and usability of the UI. SightLine Power Agents for Windows Systems SightLine Power Agents for Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 systems were released on June 30, 2011. Power Agents for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems were released: version 6.4.17.6 for Windows 2003, version 6.4.25.6 for Windows 2003 64-bit, version 6.4.30.4 for Windows 2008, and version 6.4.32.4 for Windows 2008 64-bit. |
